In 1978 it was first founded as "Mymensingh College of Education"   
In 1982 it was named as "Academy for Fundamental Education"   
In 1985 it was named as "National Academy for Primary Education(NAPE)"   
On October 1 2004 this NAPE is declared as an autonomuos Organization.
